Agent’s Representative Course

The first step in establishing a real estate career is to become an Agent’s Representative. Agent’s Representatives perform a variety of real estate roles under the supervision of a licensed estate agent.
This course will furnish you with the entry-level qualifications required to work in real estate.

The Agent’s Representative course consists of the following three units of competency from the Certificate IV in Property Services
(Real Estate):

CPPDSM4080A Work in the Real Estate Industry
CPPDSM4007A Identify legal & Ethical Requirements of Property Management
CPPDSM4008A Identify Legal & Ethical Requirements of Property Sales

This is a comprehensive course and students should expect intensive study modes and after-class reading.

Students are required to complete written assessments for each unit. There are no tests or exams. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Statement of Attainment outlining the competencies achieved.

Employment Requirements

In order to commence employment as an agent’s representative, you must meet the following requirements of the Business Licensing Authority (BLA):

Be at least 18 years of age;
Have a registered address in Victoria;
Pass the prescribed course, for which the REIV provides training;
Obtain an authority to act signed by the principal of the agency you will represent;
Present a police check not more than six months old;
Provide a Statutory Declaration confirming your eligibility to practice real estate.;
Have your employer register you with the Business Licensing Authority.
